APPOINTMENT CLOCKS
Appointments (not partners!)
Directions:
1. Have the students draw a clock
with the times 12, 1, 2,….on it.
2. Tell the students to make 12 different
appointments with various classmates. Do not allow duplication
of names.
3. Remind them that the other person should
also record their name
a. Sandy has Mickey down for a 12:00 appointment
b. Mickey has Sandy down for a 12:00 appointment
4. This can be adapted if you have larger
classes by using the half hour increments.
5. The students will choose their friends
at the beginning but will venture out throughout the class with new
partners as they fill up their clocks.
6. Collect the clocks and copy for future
reference. Pass them back and inform the students they will need
to refer to this sheet whenever there is paired/partner work to be done.
7. On the day of an assignment-do not allow
them to choose their partners, instead just tell them to locate their
_____ time appointment and have them work together. Be sure to
record which time you have used so you can use of the times during the
course of the grading period/semester.
8. This works well with all ages, abilities
and promotes diversity! :o)
