HELP WANTED ADS
This is a fun and not so
easy assignment for 9th and 10th graders. When discussing careers and
their requirements, I collect the help-wanted section of newspapers
(try to get several different kinds) and bring them to class. The students
are to find a job for each letter of the alphabet and write down the
title and its requirements (or have them cut it out and attach it).
This starts off very easy for them but becomes more difficult as the
Q's, X's and so forth are located. Their imagination and determination
will take over and yes, they can find a job for each letter (quality
control inspection and x-ray technician!). If they get stumped
let
them use the Internet as a resource!
