DISTRIBUTION

To demonstrate how difficult it can be to transport products from one location to another, students have to transport a gallon of water, a cup of salt, eggs and ballons using limited utensils (not allowed to just carry the water in the jug or salt in the cup). I divide the students into teams (try to have no more than 4 to a team). Utensils can include paper lunch sacks, straws, plastic spoons, paper towels. I have a race or a timer depending on the number of students and size of the area. It is fun, noisy and often messy, but it does illustrate the importance of protecting and transporting products in a timely manner. It makes a great ice breaker for distribution.
