DOLL DESIGNER

Mattel® has called you to create a new doll collection for their teen line-up. They have requested a doll group to target girls between the ages of 15 and 17. In order to present the doll to Mattel®, you need to create a promotional plan and present it in the boardroom.

The information must be typed and formatted using the DECA standards for Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan 2006. www.deca.org/pdf/FMPguide.pdf

Here are some of the requests of Mattel® for your presentation:

Budget : $25,000

  • Name of each individual doll and her friends
  • 3 complete outfits (total) for the dolls
  • Create the home, crib, or lair for the dolls.
  • Price point


Here are some questions that need to be answered during your presentation:

  • What is the profile of your target audience?
  • How will you promote the collection?
  • Where will you begin the promotion? (City, State, Store)

Checkpoints will be graded on the following days:
May 1: Concept (1 page outline)
May 3: Executive summary (1 page)
May 9: Doll creative design
