DESIGNER TRADING CARD

Students will create a “designer card” about one of the influential designers. A designer card is similar to a sports card but it provides information about the designer and his/ her role in the fashion industry.

You will be given a sheet of construction paper. Each of the six sections should be done on blank paper, which will then be pasted onto the construction paper. This is just a sample layout: you may rearrange the sections as you please but make sure you have six sections in your project. The six parts are:

1. a picture of the designer (picture)
2. a colorful banner with the designer’s name
3. 5 facts, contributions the designer has made to the fashion industry
4. 5 personal facts (biography)
5. 2 examples of the designer’s work (garments only!)
6. designer’s logo

EVALUATION

CONTENT: Are all parts present? Is each done adequately enough to reflect the designer’s contribution to the designer industry?

NEATNESS AND CREATIVITY: Has attention been paid to clarity, neatness and creative flair?

EFFORT: Has a sufficient amount of time and effort been invested in the project?

WRITING SKILLS: Has the project been written carefully? Has it been edited for errors in content, spelling and grammar?
