Why Don’t You Carry...
Channels of distribution is a hard topic
to teach in a meaningful way. I try to
show students the relevance (and importance) by making it very real.
We pick a popular consumer product,
find a location where it is not carried,and
then try to figure out how the company could get the item into this
type of business through alternate channels.
For example, how could Frito-Lay
get Wow chips into small offices that don’t have vending machines?
