FASHION HISTORY

General Direction: For each section, research information to be used in a presentation to the class.  The information should be concise, but comprehensive for note taking.  Content is worth 50 points total and presentation is worth 50 points.  You may include a handout to cover all the information in lieu of using transparencies.
 

Part I:  CONTENT
 Two page minimum not including title page and works cited.

Cover Page (5 points)

Cover to include: Title (ex. “The Evolution of Gloves”), Name (each person in-group) Date, Class (Fashion Marketing), Image (any picture you deem appropriate for your project).

Overview of the Fashion Item (35 points)

Describe the fashion item. What is it? Who invented it? What year was the first item seen and used? Compare the fashion item from the first occurrence through today’s use. How has the item evolved? 

World Events (5 points)

What was going on in the world that may have affected this item and it’s development and changes.  Ex.  Wars or trade embargoes.

Works Cited (5 points)
Cite all sources used to develop your research; Books, Internet sources and more. 
Minimum three sources required.

Part II:  PRESENTATION and VISUALS

All information in your research paper is important, incorporate this information into a Power Point Presentation. Minimum of four slides, not including your cover page. All students in each group will be required to take part in the presentation of this project. Work together for full credit.

Compare and contrast the fashion item. Find pictures of the fashion item from the beginning to the end, compare them in a visual format (i.e. poster, overhead transparency). Minimum of four images. (Images may be used in the power point as well as in the visual).
