RAISING FUNDS FOR NATIONALS
DON'T overlook the obvious places for funding when you need it.  Last year when raising funds for ICDC, to go along with this letter, I had Rebecca go around to all the businesses in Hopewell and surrounding areas. She wore her DECA BLAZER to make it "more official". As money rolled in, she wrote each and every person/business a personal thank you note with an enclosed receipt (for tax purposes). She received
approximately $100 more than the requested amount. She used it as spending money. She was very professional and was recognized for her efforts by the school system at the end of the year. Do not let anyone say they do not have enough money, it is out there if you look for it.(Also, teachers in the school donated to the cause). Many businesses gave money right then, others sent money to the school in care of Rebecca, that is why the school letter head is so important as well. I hope this helps!!!!!

HOPEWELL HIGH SCHOOL

ICDC EXPENSES

Hello, my name is Rebecca ------------- and I am the President of Hopewell DECA this year.  With a lot of hard work and dedication HHS DECA has earned the prestigious honor of attending the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California this April.

As you can see, there is a great expense involved with attending the conference this year.  Hopewell DECA will be sending four students and one advisor this year.

I would appreciate your financial support in helping me to represent Hopewell High School at the International Career Development Conference.

Thank you.
