For the adventure
seeker, there are many opportunities to travel abroad to work, if you are
willing to do your homework. Many of the international job banks
are predominantly in other languages, so I have left them out. I
know, you got a B+ in Spanish, but this is for the rest of us.
Au
Pairs
Just
in case you didn't know what an "au pair" was, it is someone who travels
to a foreign country to learn the language and the culture while living
with a family and taking partial responsibility for rearing the children.
A nanny, if you will. This is a paid for service, as long
as you are accepted. The above listed is a Britain only site.
Go here if you are male or want
to try other countries.
Euro
Hotel
Maybe
a great opportunity to travel abroad. Take a look, see what you can
find. Then experience what you can while you can!
Offshore
Guides
The
offshore oil and gas and maritime industry is currently experiencing a
severe
shortage of dependable personnel. This nature of work could range
from cook to engineer to diver or anywhere inbetween. These jobs
could take you all over the world, so if you are looking for a little adventure...
Asia
Net
Asia
Net helps to make connections for people who can speak English and Chinese,
Japanese, Korean, or other countries of the Asia/Pacific Rim.
Canadian
Jobs
Yes,
it's another newsgroup. Hopefully you're starting to like them by
now. This is a good source for Canadian jobs.
Career
Mosaic's International Gateway
A
very good site, but you'd better either have something or somewhere in
mind, or else you'd better have a lot of time. The international
gateway is almost too good for someone who just wants to "browse" the categories.
But there's a good chance that your job is in here, whether you are seeking
entry level employment or an executive position.
Avotek
Headhunters
Being
located in the Netherlands, this site appears to focus on the Netherlands,
France, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland. However, as you dig a
little, you find there Avotek is an international cornucopia of employment
listings. Bet you didn't think I could use the word 'cornucopia'
in here, did you?
Live
in Jobs
While
it's probably not a career move, this is an opportunity to go backpacking
all over Great Britain--Scotland, England, and Wales--for free!
Live in jobs provides hotel employment waiting tables, bars, cooking, etc.
All jobs last for 3 to 6 months, and rooms and food are provided for free.
Work only on the days you want to. Sounds like a good opportunity
to see a slice of Europe!
Dragon
Surf
Predicted
bu some to some day be the largest economic base in the world, China holds
tremendous potential for the job seeker. Not only can jobs be found
here, but also plenty of information on customs, culture, etc., if you
back out of the jobs section.
Job
Serve
Claiming
to be the UK's largest online job database, also says that over 10% of
its
listings are overseas.
The
Australian Resume Server
A
basic site, dedicated to matching employers and employees. Don't
forget all of those e-resume tips that you've seen already...
Asia
Dragons
More
information, links, and job posting here about Asia then you can shake
a stick at. Hosted by Asiaco Jobs Center, this is a great place to
start.
Irish
Jobs Online
Like
the U.S. was only a year or two ago, this site is heavily weighted
to the college student or college graduate. And if you are neither,
go check it out anyway because by the time you read this, it may have begun
to change.
Monster
Work Abroad
While
I probably should have listed this one near the top, if you read down this
far, you're probably making the most of your search. Monster Abroad
does have an array of jobs from entry level to executive. Be patient,
and take your time with them. You may just hit pay dirt.
Search
Beat
Search
Beat claims to be the best source for job listings in Africa, so who am
I to argue?
Newsgroups
Many
of the best ways to reach foreign countries are through newsgroups.
Below are several and the corresponding country. Buenos Dias!
Don't forget, please
send me your success story! If you have found a job
resulting from these pages - no matter WHERE you are from - please let
me know. I won't post the information if you don't want me to, but
I'd love to hear about it. HAPPY HUNTING!
Finally, We are
ALWAYS on the lookout for new job links! If you know of a worthwhile
site that is not included on these pages, please
send it to me! I'll be happy to post it, and even to credit you.
