Depending on where you live, right now part-time and summer jobs are not that difficult to find.  McDonald's always needs help, as do a lot of other similar employers.  That's great news!  But for those of you who are a bit more adventurous and wish to find a job that's a little bit less traditional, take a close look at some of the opportunities listed below.  These are some of the more unique summer jobs.  Yes, there are plenty of camp counselor jobs out there, but take a closer look...

Cool Works
Cool works offers a lot for the "outdoorsy" types, at parks, ski lodges, camps, on the water, and much more.  Search by state or job type.

Got a Job
Got a job offers "part-time in no time."  Different in the way you search.  While categorical jobs are offered, you may also search by geographical location.  Tell them how far you are willing to travel to go to work, and they'll tell you what's out there.  Probably not the most comprehensive, but who knows what you'll find?

Action Jobs
You can't be a couch potato for this one.  Adventure employment service for those seeking jobs in forest fire fighting, white water rafting, snow boarding, skiing, cruise ships and with adventure travel companies, just to name a few.

Summer Jobs
A veritable "hodgepodge" of summer jobs, and you can search by geographical location.  Also offers many career links and resources.

Freetime Jobs
Just as the name would imply, free time jobs offers positions from teens to retirees, based on the job.  Tell them what you'd like, then search.  If you don't find it, they'll continuously e-mail you until you make a match!

Peterson's Guides
A combination of cool learning adventures, summer camps, and opportunities for work-study abroad.  It also offers internships to those interested.

Live in Jobs
This is an opportunity to go backpacking all over Great Britain--Scotland, England, and Wales--for free!  Live in jobs provides hotel employment waiting tables, bars, cooking, etc.  All jobs last for 3 to 6 months, and rooms and food are provided for free.  Work only on the days you want to.  Sounds really cool to me!

Project Vote Smart
Another non-profit organization that researches local and state candidates and other elected officials, providing non-biased information to the public.  Generous college scholarships are available.

College Pro Painters
Join an organization that has obtained national acclaim!  These young people have been painting houses all over the country.  You can apply on-line if you wish, or maybe even a good opportunity to do some traveling to another part of the country, if that is your desire.

Project America
Work for an organization that is trying to make the world a better place to live.  PA places a emphasis on community service.  Some positions are paid, while others ask for a helping hand.  If you are looking here, you might need the $$$.  But if community service is your "cup of tea," take a look around.

Kids Camps
Did you like camp as a kid?  Then you'll love Kids Camps!  Anywhere from sports camps to art camps to academic camps, you might find your job here.  Take a look around and see what interests you.  There's bound to be something!

And a few more camp links would be...

Camp Channel Job Board
Camp Employment
Camp Jobs
Camp Search
Staff a Camp

Don't forget, please send me your success story!  If you have found a job resulting from these pages - no matter WHERE you are from - please let me know.  I won't post the information if you don't want me to, but I'd love to hear about it.  HAPPY HUNTING!

Finally, We are ALWAYS on the lookout for new job links!  If you know of a worthwhile site that is not included on these pages, please send it to me!  I'll be happy to post it, and even to credit you.
