Delta Epsilon Chi
Delta Epsilon Chi was formed at Old
Dominion University in 2002. This chapter is an outgrowth of the Old Dominion University
Collegiate DECA chapter that functioned for over twenty years. Delta Epsilon Chi
serves two functions.
- First, it serves as the student/professional
organization that assists future marketing education teacher-coordinators, encouraging
them to become local DECA advisors and helping them prepare for this advisory role.
- Second, it endeavors to integrate with and
enhance the various marketing-related curricula that is offered at the university.
With it's close ties with the business
community, Delta Epsilon Chi provides both an appreciation of the free enterprise system
and developmental opportunities for it's members. Delta Epsilon Chi membership is an
educational addendum to those studying for future fashion, marketing, management and
entrepreneurial careers.
Goals of Delta Epsilon Chi
- Help the community
- Keep the DECA/DEX spirit
- Learn to work as part of a team
- Provide leadership opportunities
- Develop good communication skills
- Experience organizational leadership
- Personal and professional growth for members
- Assist local high school DECA chapters
- Meet & network with businesspeople,
educators & other DEX members

marketing educators/DECA advisors
- Be a positive role model to high school DECA
members
- Be involved in a professional organization
- Demonstrate responsible citizenship
- Provide travel opportunities
- Have fun!!!!
