Welcome to the Bio-Micro-Fluidics (BMF) website at Old Dominion University, Aerospace Engineering Department.
We are currently transitioning these pages from TAMU to ODU, so please excuse us during this process.
This site is best viewed in 1280 x 1024 resolution.
BMF is under the direction of Prof. Ali Beskok. The current research activities include:

·         Self and directed assembly of colloidal particles on patterned surfaces.

·         Microfluidic device based capture and concentration of pathogens in drinking/recycled water.

·         Mixing in microfluidic systems using chaotic advection.

·         Electrokinetic transport in microfluidic systems.

·         Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations of nanoflows.

·         Modeling gas flow in slip, transition and free molecular flow regimes.

·         Non-conforming h/p element methods for thermal/fluidic transport.

·         Mesoscopic methods for thermal/fluidic transport simulations in the nano-scale.
