Lean Institute

The Lean Manufacturing and Enterprise Institute was established to find solutions for issues related to enterprise productivity.  The Institute also addresses issues related to other business functions such as supply chain logistics, technology management, human resources, design, and contracting.  The primary goals of the Institute are to conduct research, design and develop training programs and conferences, and help organizations implement them.  The Institute works closely with industries in Hampton Roads to offer, develop, and deliver specialized training programs.

As part of the Virginia Applied Technology and Professional Development Center, Institute members collaborate with the Center on delivering training programs and implementation services.  The Institute also brings together national and international experts to discuss enterprise productivity issues by organizing conferences and workshops.  Faculty offers research expertise in a variety of areas and plays an active role in managing and editing national and international research publications.

 

Goals of the Lean Institute include - Conducting Research, Developing and Delivering Training Programs, Lean Assessment & Implementation and Organizing Conferences & Workshops.
