India Forum was held on the campus of Old Dominion University during November 18-20, 2004. Six scholars from India visited the ODU campus during this event to present their work and meet faculty and students. The event included scholarly presentations within various colleges, panel discussions, movie screening, and cultural programs.  As part of this event, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information, United Nations delivered the Presidential Lecture Series.  The scholars included:

1.  Dr. Rajeev Bhargava - Professor in Philosophy, Delhi University - New Delhi

2.  Dr. Sanjay Dhande - Director, Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur

3.  Dr. Rahul Pandit - Professor in Physics, Indian Institute of Science - Banglore

4.  Dr. Prakash Apte - Director, Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore

5.  Dr. Mushirul Hassan - Vice Chancellor, Jamia Milia Universirty

6.  Dr. Neelam Sood - National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration

A delegation led by Dr. Chandra DeSilva visited India in June 2004 to invite scholars for India Forum. The delegation explored opportunities for research collaboration, exchange programs  and joint projects. Other members in the delegation included Dr. John Heyl and Prof. Alok Verma.
