Dave Netherton is
retired from the Department of Occupational and Technical Studies where he previously was
a Senior Lecturer and the Program Leader for the Fashion, Training Specialist, and
Marketing Education Programs. He has served twice as national president of Iota
Lambda Sigma Honor Society in Workforce Development and currently serves as editor of the Iota
Lambda Sigma Journal in Workforce Development. He received the Distinguished Teaching
Award from the Old Dominion University Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. He is currently
the Director of the Virginia Assistive Technology System Southeast Region Site at Old
Dominion University. He continues to work with Ph.D. students who are pursuing their
studies in training and career and technical education. He
also works on professional research and service with young faculty. His research
interests are in the area of workforce development and vocational special needs.
Occasionally, he still teaches courses in fashion merchandising, training, and career and
technical education for the department.
