Featured Project: The ODU CubeSat

The ODU CubeSat project was part of the Virginia CubeSat Constellation mission funded by NASA and the Virginia Space Grant Consortium for a period of 3 years (2016-2019). This was an interdisciplinary project which provided undergraduate engineering students at ODU with hands-on experience on a complex space systems engineering project. ODU students along with students at the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech designed, developed, integrated, and flew a constellation of three 1U CubeSats in low Earth orbit to measure their orbital decay and develop a model of atmospheric drag in low Earth orbit. The CubeSat project was featured in the multiple news articles on the university website The ODU CubeSat project is also featured in several videos on the ODU Batten College of Engineering and Technology YouTube channel:
