Math 508. Applied Numerical Methods I. Lecture 3 hours; 3
credits. Prerequisites: MATH 212 and CS 150 or equivalent programming ability.
An introduction to the numerical methods commonly applied by scientists and
engineers. Topics include solution of
equations in one variable, polynomial interpolation, numerical
differentiation and integration, approximation theory, and initial value problems for ordinary
differential equations. This course is
designated as a simulation course.
