Coverage: Parts of Chapters 1,2,3,4,5,6, 7 and 8.

Grading 3 Tests 35 % (Feb 6, March 6, April 17)

Policy: Quizzes 35% (~10 quizzes on every Thursday except three test dates above

beginning Jan. 23. Drop 2 lowest quiz grades.)

Final Exam. 30 % (Tuesday May 6, 12:30-3:30pm )

A: 90-100%

B: 80-89%

C: 70-79%

D: 60-69%

F: below 60%

Tests and the final examination will be closed book.

Important Dates: Monday, January 20 MLK Holiday

March 10- March 15 Spring Holiday

March 18, Last Day to withdraw from Session 1

Important Notes: There will be NO MAKE-UP tests. If a student misses a test for a reason

approved by the instructor (e.g. in serious circumstances beyond the control of the

student, in which case medical or other documentation must be subsequently provided),

the final examination grade will be recorded for the missed grade.

A word about homework: I do not require you to hand in your homework, but I do expect

you to do it, or at the very least, seek help from me if you get stuck. Homework problems

are assigned on a separate sheet. Keep a notebook for homework problems that you can

show me if you come to office hours for help.
