k Metaphase - This is an easy stage to identify. The chromosomes are aligned along the equator of the cell (metaphase plate). This accomplished by the spindles that are attached to its kinetochore. Read in the text differences between the centromere and kinetochore. Using the top figure (Answer Check) draw in your notes, the three pair of chromosomes with the genes "A" and "B" on the log red and blue homologous pair as they would appear during metaphase.
