OTS 110: Technology and Your World
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. An overview of the resources, and systems of technology. Emphasis is on the impacts that technology has on individuals and society. Discussion and activities explore the evolution of technology, its changes, advances, and effects on individuals and society.

OTS 112: Communications Design
Lecture 1 hour; laboratory 5 hours; 3 credits. A course that explains communication design principles and product development techniques. Activities include traditional processes and computer aided design (CAD) techniques.

OTS 250: Graphic Communication Processes
Lecture 1 hour; laboratory 5 hours; 3 credits. A study of the materials and processes used in graphic communication. Emphasis is placed on the skills and equipment used in offset, screen process, continuous tone photography, relief, and specialty processes of graphic communication.

OTED 305: Curriculum for Technology Education
Lecture and discussion 3 hours; 3 credits. Prerequisites: OTS 251D and junior standing. National and state trends in instructional content are analyzed. Course content, activities, and facilities are planned. Competency-based and standards-based educational methods are stressed.

OTED 306: Methods for Technology Education
Lecture and discussion 3 hours; 3 credits. Prerequisites: OTS 251D and junior standing. A practical study and application of recommended methods for teaching technology education. Students plan and present micro-lessons; videotaped micro-teaching demonstrations are included. The also learn to organize student organizations and plan for laboratory management.

OTS 312: Technical Illustration and Design for Fashion
Lecture 1 hour; laboratory 5 hours; 3 credits. The study of technical illustration and design principles and techniques to meet the needs of the fashion industry. Activities include traditional processes and computer aided design (CAD) techniques.

OTS 330: Medical, Agricultural, and Bio-related Technologies
Lecture 1 hour; laboratory 5 hours; 3 credits. A study of technological systems related to medical and food producing technologies. Students learn the basics of these technologies and complete activities that integrate the content with processes and products found in our technological world.

OTS 386: Architecture
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. Prerequisite: Junior standing. A course designed to apply principles of space planning, architectural construction techniques, and energy-efficient building methods as they apply to residential and commercial structures.

OTED 730/830: Introduction to Technology
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. A multidisciplinary course designed to provide an insight into the fundamental, historical, and contemporary ideas of the nature of technology as an area of human knowledge. Attention is given to the positive and negative aspects of technology and how they effect society.

OTED 731/831: Technical Systems
3 credits. This course assists in preparing the professional technology educator by adding to their refinement of professional practice and their evolving perspectives of technology education. It also contributes to the content specialty of technology education. Through this course, it is hoped that professional educators will become more committed to their educational career.

OTED 732/832: Program Development for Technology Education
3 credits. Plan and develop an effective program with technology related activities. Focus is on identification and development of resources, activities, and materials for classroom programs.

OTED 762/862: Administration & Management of Education & Training Programs
Lecture 3 hours, 3 credits. This course deals with organizational policy, human and financial resources, facilities, and the planning process as applied to occupational education and adult training programs.

OTED 765/865: Trends and Issues of Economics and Workforce Development
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. An analysis of economic trends and issues that lead to workforce development decisions. Focus is on planning for educational and training programs to meet workforce needs dictated by local and regional economic issues. This course is designed for community college and school system personnel.

OTED 785/885: Curriculum Development in Occupational Education and Training
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. A course designed to prepare professionals to design and develop curriculum for occupational education and training courses and programs.

OTED 787/887: Career and Technical Education Curriculum
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits.  Learn the various curriculum options taught in secondary schools under the auspices of career and technical education. Work from an administrative standpoint to learn the mission and goals of the various subject areas and plan to direct such efforts.

OTED 788/888: Instructional Strategies and Innovations
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. Learning and teaching styles are considered as a basis for developing instructional strategies to maximize education and training outcomes. Relevant learning theories and knowledge of self, learner, technology, and the environment are blended to enhance the participant's instructional strategies.

OTED 840: Readings in Occupational & Technical Studies
Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. A guided review of the literature to determine the history, development, and issues of occupational and technical education, including specialization in technology education, career and technical education, and human resources training.
