Welcome to the L.I.O.N.S., the "Pride" of Old Dominion University!
LIONS or Large Integrated Online Networked Services is the UNIX environment for academic computing created by the UNIX Support Group (USG) of the Office of Computing and Communication Services. All Old Dominion University students, faculty, or staff may obtain a LIONS account.
- Introduction - A brief introduction to the LIONS environment. All new LIONS users should read this document before they use their accounts for the first time.
- News - ALL news concerning the LIONS environment. PLEASE CHECK OFTEN TO REMAIN INFORMED ABOUT ACTIVITIES AFFECTING THE LIONS ENVIRONMENT.
- Documentation - General information about operating in the LIONS Environment. Information such as obtaining a LIONS account, logging in remotely, Academic UNIX printing support, the LIONS infrastructure, using sol-login.lions.odu.edu and other information can be found here. All users are encouraged to read this documentation as soon as receiving a LIONS account. At the end of most documentation, there is usually a "Frequently Asked Questions" section. Before sending email to our help system, please checks those FAQs to see if your question has already been answered.

- Vendor Docs - Documentation from our Software/Hardware Vendors such as SAS, Platform Computing, and Sun Microsystems.
- UNIXHELP - The older LIONS Help Mail System has been deprecated and replaced with the standard OCCS Footprints system. You may send your help requests directly to occshelp or unixhelp or fill out a Footprints form online. You can also track the progress of your request.
