If you have to miss a test, you must contact me as soon as possible
(i.e., before the
test, if possible, or within 48 hours after the exam). A grade zero will be
assigned unless you have a very
good excuse for missing the test. If you do have an acceptable excuse
(including a doctor’s note in case of illness), your grade for the missed test
will be the grade you receive on the final examination.
Homework You
will receive approximately one homework assignment per week. Typically,
homework will be due one week after it is assigned. Please check the website
for exact information on homework due dates.
Homework
solution will be provided in class after the homework due date has passed.
You are expected
to conform to the University Honor Code in all aspects of your conduct in this
course. For example, you are encouraged to work with others on the homework;
however, what you submit must represent your own understanding of the problem.
A
letter grade is determined only
at the end of the term. Course grades will be based on the exam scores, the
final exam score, and assigned homework.
The
relative weighing is the following:
Exams
(25% each): 50%
Final
