Dr. Weinstein is a nice man but I think his grading scale is awful. I don't understand why the homework is weighted more than the test. I spoke to my advisor about this course, and she said we should not have this much trouble with the 1^st section of this course. I would do well in class if it wasn't for the homework.

Dr. Weinstein is not very effective. He rushes through the notes. When asking questions, he doesn't answer in a way you can understand. He answers a question with a question. He is not very easy to access to get help. He doesn't take the time. He assumes that everybody knows everything. Makes ridiculous comments about work. His test are not what is expected. They one way too hard for an elementary physics course. He does pass the basics which that's what we need to know. We aren't graduate students that's the way he teaches this course, as if we are graduate students.

I thought Mr. Weinstein was a very fair teacher, but sometimes the way he explains things weren't basic or clear enough for a person to understand who has no knowledge of the subject matter. I also think he should not give as many questions or as many difficult questions on the test given the time constraints, however he was very open to new ideas and suggestions.

I was very unhappy in taking the class and I definitely did NOT benefit from it. I fell Dr. Weinstein did a poor job of getting his ideas and lectures across clearly. With as many education majors in the class, you thing he would make it easier to understand. He has a very unfair grading when it comes to homework and to make it worse, homework is weighted more that the test. The logic behind that is??? I will advise all friends NOT to take his lecture.

It was helpful to place the lecture notes on the web, however it wasn't also easy access. The lectures didn't coincide with the laboratory and the amount of work that had to be done for this 100 level class was unacceptable. I feel that I need a prerequisite class before enrolling. It would help tremendously if the lectures would be designed to help teach elementary students the concepts of physics since this is a class for IDS majors. Also the homework test and lab do not add up. It is not fair that the homework is weighing more tan the tests.

Good example and applications. Homework graded need to be better qualified. Take time inside and outside class to insure the student learns. Looking forward to next year.

Dr. Weinstein made the class interesting. His enthusiasm of the subject made the class enjoyable. The instructional materials used for demonstration were adequate. The course covered many aspects of physics and is beneficial to the undergraduate career.

It was a very good class. Prof. Weinstein has a good personality that translates into goo teaching. However I would suggest more examples shown in class of the numerical problems. The physical examples and experiments were nice, but I think more numerical examples will help with the homework.

This class is not geared to elementary physics. It was taught a higher level which I did not like. The homework was unacceptable. Grading and doing the homework every week I did not like. You need to offer more extra credit. The test had nothing to do with what we studied. Do away with trying to make us explain why an ?/ problem of test. We never had enough time to complete tests because of this, we felt very rushed.

I was reluctant to take Physics at first. But now, I'm glad I did. I can't wait until next semester starts. I definitely learned some good stuff in this class Dr. W made the class fun, interesting and challenging. He's a fair grader and is impartial to all students. I most highly recommend him as a professor to anyone who has a strong desire to learn physics.

I do not feel that the material in this course is relevant to the IDS students. The concepts would be more beneficial to only science majors.

Dr. Weinstein is an enjoyable professor. I liked all of his examples and demonstrations. I feel like I have learned a lot even though my exams don't reflect it.

Dr. Weinstein, is an excellent professor. At first the class was really challenging but I found that he is 100% willing to help and assist people so they can succeed.

Course was a little technical for a 101 class. Teacher was helpful in breading down concepts. Homework was worth too much percentage wise.

Provide many demonstrations in class. At times the lectures seemed unorganized.

Instructor was very straight forward on what we needed to know. Went along with the book. If anyone had a lot of trouble they didn't do the reading. Over all teacher was very good on getting ideas across.

I thought this class over all was good Dr. Weinstein was always available to his students and very helpful. I like the notes being posted on the web. It was very helpful. Though I really would have liked more time to take the tests. I feel I could have done better if I just had more time.

The class was very interesting, I learned a lot. Physics is as hard as I thought it would be.

The lab should be counted as at least 30% of the final grade. The lab takes a lot of time and work and should be counted more towards the final grade. The final should be worth less.

Dr. Weinstein is very interested in Physics. He makes the class exciting and enjoyable. I do think he grading should be altered. Homework should be counted less than lab.
