COMMENTS:

I enjoyed taking this course. I liked how you had a class website and posted the homework and other things needed for the class.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
He was one of my favorite instructors this semester. However, the clock is not 3 minutes fast!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Professor Weinstein is the only professor that won't ever get mad. His tests are really difficult though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Professor Weistein is a wonderful instructor. He throughly explains the material. The notes that we were required to buy was a great help. Although physics was hard for me to understand, the professor's ability to teach the material and his knowlege were outstanding!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Professor Weinstein does a good job presenting the subject in a way students who are not strong in sciences can understand. He made use of the textbook he chose, and gave a reasonable amount of assignments that actually contributed to the learning experience. I enjoyed his class a great deal.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This course was ok, but I don't think it should be a requirement for IDS majors to take it. I seriously doubt that I will take much of this information with me after graduation. If a physics course is going to be required, it should be a little bit easier, and contain less information.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Professor Weinstein is a wonderful professor who absolutely loves the material he teaches!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Weinstein is an outstanding teacher. His expectations are crystal clear, his willingness to stop and explain is exceptional, and his class demos are interesting, helpful, and fun. My main suggestion would be to not continue onto the next chapter when an exam is pending. It was too much to juggle new information while attempting to focus on studying for the exams. This is a difficult course for most liberal arts students, and at times the pace was too quick. Since many of us have not had high school physics, or because it's been so long since we had it, it was difficult to know what questions to ask in class. The classroom itself is great. This course was challenging, but I learned a lot and look forward to next semester.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Weinstein is absolutely amazing! He is the benchmark of excellence! I am looking forward to continuing my learning experience with him next semester in Elementary Physics 102, and hopefully he will be teaching PHYS 231/2 following that!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The professor was very helpful with expaning things and teh notes were very helpful. The only thing thst I didn't like was that labs counted for such a small percentage yet so much time was spent on them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I really enjoyed taking Physics with Dr. Weinstein. He made physics seem really interesting and worth spending outside time trying to understand more about the concepts he introduced during lecture.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Prof. Weinstein was very easy to talk to. He was very responsive with problems that I had in the class. I don't understand a lot of the material, but Prof. Weinstein really was helpful with understanding my difficulties in the class. I had to spend a lot of time doing the homework and studying, but it has paid off. A C isn't normally a grade someone is striving for but it is one I am hoping for. With Prof. Weinstein's flexibility it just might happen.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
i think the professor talked way above my head most of the time and becaues of this i did not understand alot of what was goin on, i thought i did but when it came to tests i always picked the wrong reasoning, even though it made sense to me it was wrong.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Excellent course, Professor kept it interesting and provided numerous visual aids and demonstrations to aid in understanding.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I really enjoyed this class. It was hard, but you gave plenty of opportunities for help and extra credit. Thanks
-------------------------------------------------------------------
excellent instructor, i can see that he makes a great attempt to make the course interesting to even the students that care nothing about science, also he does an excellent job in explaining anything misunderstood, as well as the fact that he is not demeaning in any way towards students regardless of their understanding of the material.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
An easy science course, as things go, but it seemed to be at about the right level for most of the people in the class. I found that I was easily able to ace the tests, but reliably got bad homework grades. Partly due to my own laziness, but it also seemed like they were graded too hastily (understandable in a class of 100).
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Weinstein makes physics understandable for a non-physics major. That's commendable! Also, his course requirements were clear and fair. The website has been a huge help to me when it comes to studying for tests. It's great to be able to have all the homework assignments and a sample test along with answers on hand like that. Also, the text book was very helpful in conveying ideas in comparison to other physics textbooks that I've used in high school and courses from other colleges.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel that Dr. Wienstein was a very unique teacher. He was very excited about the material and enthusiastic about learning the material.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I was not satisfied with this class at all. I felt that the material was not explained enough for the test. During the class you gave us less information than you expected on the test. The homework was graded to hard and not effective. I really think you could be a good professor if you remembered that this is non major requirement meaning that most of us are not math, science, or physic majors and it is NOT THAT SERIOUS and should not be that hard. I am sorry that everyone does not have the same love for physic as you. So my suggestion for next semester is tone it down a bit and if you give half an explanation in class then do not expect a textbook answer on the test. And one other thing if the question is mulitple choice and someone picks the right answer it should be right or at least half right even if the explanation is wrong because everyone has a right to an educated guess and it should not be taken away especially since this is a 101 class if you want to teach rocket science then you need to teach a graduate course but in the mean time the class is 101.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The information was covered way too quickly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel like this class was harder than it could have been because the tests were so hard. Even if you knew all the material that had been covered you would still get answers wrong because of the way questions were worded. What was being asked for was never clear. I feel like the homework should have been graded on effort rather than correctness. The questions were so difficult that even the staff in the physics help lab got them wrong on SEVERAL occaions. This poses a problem.
