the demonstrations becuase it explained the concept of what we were learning.

The clicker contributed alot to my learning as well as the experiments. The lab is also very helpful because we get to manipualte the experiments and do them ourselves.

The in class performances were very effective in stimulating the thought process. Also, the in-class clicker activities are a good way of stimulation and retention.

Prof. Weinstein is a great physics professor. Any physics concept is hard, but he connects them all to the world around us and that forces you to catch on to the material. The tests can be difficult, but do the HW and you will be all right.

The experiments he did helped me to understand the critical questions that he asked before doing the experiment.

The homework and in class clicker questions. They were great reinforcements of what Dr. Weinstein was teaching. The homework and tests were also aspects that helped me to think critically. We had to really think about the concepts we learned and apply them to many different situations.

Mr. Weinstein is an excellent instructor. He takes time to help everyone. Physics for the most part is complicated to understand and Mr. Weinstein keeps explainig until you understand.

Dr. W is a very effective teacher and thinker! I believe he is a good role model and provides strong self interest in his topics. He also answers questions thoughly and provides extra deminstrations to extend a more understandable reply.

The coursepack that you buy with all of his notes in it is very effective. It allows you to listen to the lecture, instead of simply writing down what is on a transparency.

What I liked most about this class was definitely the instructor. Dr. Weinstein's enthusiasm for physics was what made the class so interesting and conducive to learning (and wanting to learn) the material. He prepared many in class demonstrations which really helped us learn the material because we could remember the visualizations when we took the test. The clicker questions were also a very helpful review and reinforcement. Dr. Weinstein always welcomed questions and participation during class, and he provided us with some great extra credit oppotunities. I really like the way the tests were designed too. They were hard, but if you put in the effort and understood the physics of the questions you would do well. This is my favorite class that I have taken at the university so far, I have learned so much from Dr. Weinstein. Thank you!

I thought the grading of the homework was too picky. Most of it was explanations, and sometimes if I gave the answer but said it in a different or roundabout way, I would lose points even if I still showed that I understood the underlying concept. The grading should be a bit more flexible.

I do not like the prs interwrite system as a graded system. you are attempting to solve the problem while using the knowledge you know about the subject, yet you are not completely sure. I prefer to be proven wrong rather than being graded on a guess.

assigning weekly homework allowed us to keep up with the material. also he would relate the information with real life applications, exposing the importance of each subject that was covered.

Keeping up with the homework sets definitely helped. If you understand the homework, you understand the class. I would always go to the Physics learning center or to the professor's office hours if I had any questions on homework, tests, or anything from the readings or lectures.

GO TO THE LEARNING CENTER! Weinstein will help you there and it is always better to work in a group and have more brains focusing on certain questions. It helped me through 101 and 102.
