I'm a visual learner. Dr. Weinstein made class very interesting by bring physics to life. He showed us demostrations from the chapter readings instead of being a talking book. He also had us participate in class using the pdr system which I found to be very helpful.

The lectures included in this class contributed most to my learning. Prof. Weinstein was very good at answering questions from students and explaining something until everyone understood. In the homework sets, we were assigned exercises and problems. THe problems were the aspect that made me think critically.

He explained this in simple everyday terms that made difficult topics easy to grasp. I am not a science major and dreaded this class but i ended up really liking it and learning a lot due to how Dr. Weinstein taught!

Dr. Weinstein is an excellent professor. He welcomes questions in class and never makes you feel inferior. He presents the material on an overhead, but also does demonstrations to help the students to better understand the material.

The lectures and demonstrations definately weigh heavily on this course as far as learning the material. The homework assigned was very difficult sometimes however, with questions proposed that had obscure answers, or that weren't even covered in the book (rare, but occasionally).

Dr. Weinstein loves what he does and you can tell it. He so enthusitic about the course and it makes you want to learn more.

I liked that the prof. was willing to help all students. He even held hours in the learning lab that were outside of his normal office hours, in order to help students with their homework. Also, he got the class very involved in taking trips that related to physics i.e. physics olympics, and jefferson labs.

I really enjoyed Mr. Weinstein's enthusiasm for the subject matter. Instead of spraying out facts and making the topic incredibly boring, he manages to convey the material in an exciting and interesting way. You rarely get bored during his lectures due to interesting points made by him, and interesting questions that he is glad to answer. Also, the in-class demonstrations are very informative and show what he is talking about. Very effective.

Dr. Weinstein often answered questions by turning the answers around and made it more confusing than the course should be. He also often answered questions with questions confusiing matters worse. The couse is a 100 level but felt like it was taught at a higher level assuming we all we were Physics majors.

Sometimes it was a little difficult to answer some of the problems in our homework. It seemed as if the book never taught formulas or math. It focused on theory almost a little too much. Often, I did not know where to find formulas.

it would be very helpful if there were a quicker turnaround on the homework we submitted. the questions on the homework were subjects we were tested on but we never knew what we had gotten incorrect until (sometimes) two weeks after we had taken the test. taking 3-4 weeks to grade homework is UNACCEPTABLE!

The homework was brutally graded, and towards the end of the semester I started caring less about the homework because I knew I was going to get a terrible grade. Not for lack of trying, but the grader was very harsh sometimes. While doing the homeworks, I probably spent about 2 or 3 hours on average studying and coming up with answers. But often I would lose all the points for one question where I was somewhat close, or all my calculations were correct, I may have just been off by a small amount (but formula/concept correct). I think my average on the homeworks was like, 60%? And I think I managed only one or two above 70%. Again, not for lack of trying.

Overall, nothing. Mr. Weinstein's teaching methods are excellent, and well prepared. The only thing that got my goat was the homework grading, but that's not really in his hands, so I can't really knock him down for that. After this class, I wish that some of the professors in my major taught more like he does.
