The textbook is horrible and physics should not be required for oceanography majors.

Scale up method is an excellent teaching method. two thumbs up.

The learning lab and working thru problems with classmates.

The scale up program and Professor WEINSTEIN are a great combination. There is no better way to learn physics than in his class. working out problems in a group and not learning in a lecture style class made this course a lot better.

I like everything in this class. Although the material was very hard, I feel like I learned the most in this class.

professor WEINSTEIN usually explain things very well and provides examples that help you though the course.

The online hw was a little teidious. Less online hw or easier online hw.

Only changes I would suggest would be to slack up the hw a little bit. The web assign took hours on hours to complete. I spent most of my time fiddling with my work to receive the green check marks.

More available to the class, however his assitants were as well as an army of tutors.

too much homework. He got a little excessive with the amount of homework he assigned and most times didn't give us enough time. Professor WEINSTEIN needs to back down the level he teaches at a little as well. Sometimes i felt as if he was frustrated that we didn't understand specific concepts. Also his test were too hard. He gave us questions that we never talked about in class. You also may wish to use a different book because reading it did not help with learning the material.

You have to engage yourself in all the activities in order to grasp an understanding. Most of the fundamentals are accumulative making the later material hard to understand and very abstract.
