Coming to class and going to the study sessions. The clicker questions helped me learn to think critically.

Dr. Weinstein is an excellent professor. He cares about students, Physics, and the university. His lectures are well-prepared and delivered. He answers students' questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. He loves the material and conveys it well.

The group discussion was very helpful. This is the first Scaleup class I have ever taken and it was pretty good. I feel like I learned more because my brain was able to shift gears every so often. Constant lecture is like torture.

The home work, even though it was overwhelming, did help me to better understand the material...As far as working in groups it did help me, but it was only because I was fortunate to have at least one group member that cared about passing the class.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE CLASS AND YOUR INSTRUCTOR?

I liked the clicker questions. I didn't like how he formed the groups because they were not formed equally.

I liked that Dr. Weinstein cares about students and that the students learn the material. This shows in everything he does.

Dr Weinstein is pretty cool. He definitely knows his stuff, but he talks about it in plain understandable language.

Weinstein in amazing. It's an honor to be in the presence of such a genius mind. He is always eager to help and can explain thing really well.

I enjoyed class demonstrations that didn't require lab reports.

Professor Weinstein is enthusiastic about teaching, and I can tell he actually cares to make sure that the class as a whole passes his class. If I emailed him he was always prompt with responding back and helpful when answering questions.

WHAT CHANGES IF ANY, COULD BE MADE TO THE CLASS THAT WOULD HAVE HELPED YOU TO LEARN MORE? WHAT COULD THE INSTRUCTOR HAVE DONE TO MAKE THE COURSE AN EVEN BETTER LEARNING EXPERIENCE?

Let students choose their groups, actually teach the students what's on the slides rather than reading off them and having the students try and learn wholly on their own.

The Professor should spend time reviewing for his own tests. It's not fair to have a review with TA's outside of normal class time, and the review is for a test from another professor that "should" be similar. He should take questions during class about the homework for the benefit of the students. Retaining what was learned during class is difficult because the lectures are 3 chapters ahead of what homework and tests we are working on or studying for.

This course includes too much material. It should be three semesters, or some of the material should be trimmed. Dr. Weinstein could not have made this a better learning experience, because he was excellent.

I didn't like leaving my first group at the beginning of the semester. We worked hard together and got our assignment done together. After leaving them for another group, there was less motivation to put in the effort to build that strong bond again with strangers. I tried meeting together with the first group again, but it didn't work out well because they were busy with their own groups and my new group was scheduling empty commitments with me.

The homework doesn't seem like it helped with the tests and quizzes much.

I would like to have more work sheets like the last ones on lenses/mirrors...these worksheets were very helpful when doing home work and when I was stomped I often used them on many sections of homework.

Formed an extra study group outside of class.

Dropped all my other classes so I have 12 hours a day to do physics. It seems that is the only way to get a decent grade in this class. There is just a ridiculous amount of homework to be done that doesn't ever pay off in class.
