Graduate Quantum Mechanics I

Evaluations Fall 1998

These comments were written by students and transcribed by the Physics Department. These are all of the comments received for this course.

This course is very mathematical in nature and somewhat lacking in the "physical picture" behind the math. Foundation in Quantum Mechanics is definitely necessary for this course.

Dr. Weinstein is an out going professor, very willing to help with problems understanding the material.

__________

Dr. Weinstein teach this class very good. Because Quantum Physics is quite difficult course for most of us. Dr. Weinstein spend much of time taught us some basic concept, the methods to solve problems. He meets student's every requirements. I learned much from this class.

I suggest instructor give students more examples during every chapter.

__________

Dr. Weinstein taught very fast in the beginning of the class and we don't have enough examples about the content. But in the last two or three weeks, he spent a lot of time to do exercises which are good for us. I like the solutions that he gave to us for every homework assignments and always like the way he graded my homework. I know a lot from my mistake in solving problems in HW.

__________

Course in general very good, or excellent. It would be better, if class work contained more solutions, because theory may be learned by students in home.

Instructor's work is excellent.
