Mission (Homeland Security Research Group)

The homeland security research initiative at Old Dominion University is designed to advance research activities and train expertise to deal with emerging needs related to America 's vulnerability to terrorism. The Homeland Security Research Group identifies specific areas relevant to homeland security and finds resources from local, state and federal agencies to support Old Dominion University in its effort to protect the nation from terrorist attacks. The mission of the Homeland Security Research Group is to find a universal solution to secure the homeland from intruders by providing a transparent environment.

Research Focus (ODU Vision Lab)

The main focus of the Computational Intelligence and Machine Vision Laboratory is to develop new algorithms and architectures for real-time applications in the areas of signal processing, image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, artificial neural networks and bio-mimetic object-vision recognition.
