Bin Hu - Brief Biography

I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at Old Dominion University (ODU). Prior to joining ODU, I was an adjunct assistant professor at New Mexico State University. I was also a research intern at Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab (MERL) from May 2015 to August 2015. I received my Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering at University of Notre Dame in 2016. My research interests are to develop theories and algorithms in the areas of control, optimization, machine learning and information theory to address security, safety and resilience issues in complex real-world applications that include

  • Vehicular ad-hoc networked systems

  • Large-scale industrial process applications

  • Networked power systems and smart grids.

  • Human-machine automation
