Internet Marketing for High School Teachers
at
Old Dominion University

Read chapter 11 from Web Pages That Suck.  Then answer the following questions:

1.  What are the four possible functions of an organizational Web site?

2.  McDonald's will probably never actually sell their product/service on the Web.  Should they still maintain a Web site?  Why or why not?  Defend your answer.

3.  List and briefly describe the six stages of Internet development.

4.  The first two stages are dubbed as advertising and promotion.  These are both very prominent notions in traditional marketing, yet are described as less than ideal--even negatively--as a developmental stage for Web sites.  Why?

5.  Describe how you might use an electronic message board in your classroom, and why.

6.  According to the reading, what is the importance of having links from your course website?

7.  Identify 10 ways to promote your Web site through traditional media.

8.  True or false:  According to Flanders and Willis, all marketing efforts cost money.  Explain.
